The Position

Communication Manager

Job Summary

Act as a single and pivotal point of contact for all communication needs of the business - managing stakeholders internally and externally in close collaboration the Management team and the global organization

  • Develop and be accountable for the communications strategy (internally and externally) including messages, existing channels, change management and tools for Imerys Graphite & Carbon in line with the Group framework.

  • Organize, structure and manage communications resources within Imerys Graphite & Carbon and ensure cascading of information to all employees towards all facilities.

  • Act as the focal point for managing press and crisis communication for the BA (following agreed crisis comms process).

  • Develop, coordinate and implement when appropriate effective customer-related communication campaigns in collaboration with Marketing teams – including trade show and event organisation, advertising, literature, press relations, website management, surveys…

  • Advise leaders and leadership team, while adhering to global communications practice standards – be part of the region decision making process, participating in appropriate leadership forums.

  • Advise and supporting other departments (e.g. Sales, Business Development, R&D, Operations, Safety, etc.) on communication activities and campaigns

  • Work closely with the Imerys Communication community to ensure coordination and alignment of messages and activities.

  • Be accountable for IGC’s communications such as quarterly leadership calls, communication packs, newsletters and global management forums  

  • Support reviewing and validating IGC’s corporate social responsibility write-ups

  • Expert in all areas of communications scope:

    • Corporate reputation

    • Product communications / Operational marketing

    • Internal communications

    • Governance

    • Counsel

  • Deep understanding of the relevant industry and business practices.

  • Ability to think and act globally for the benefit of Imerys overall, while providing highly relevant advice to their own region.

  • Ability to interact with senior leaders and engage in high-level business focused discussions and decisions.

  • Strong resource management and coordination skills / people development skills.

  • Think out of the box and being curious
